Week 8: October 14th - October 18th
Monday October 14th: Students will be introduced to characteristics and features of the Earth's oceans, beginning to understand biotic factors that impact the ecosystem, stability, and nature of the vast body.
Tuesday October 15th: Students will be introduced to characteristics and features of the Earth's oceans, beginning to understand abiotic factors that impact the ecosystem, stability, and nature of the vast body. Wednesday October 16th - Friday October 18th: Students will investigate oceans further, observing and understanding hydrothermal vents, dissolved oxygen levels and much more via a virtual lab, videos, and web quest over a series of several days. |

Week 9: October 21st - 25th
Monday October 21st: Through guided skeleton notes, students will further understand the role of hydrothermal vents and oceanic currents via a whole-group discussion and presentation.
Tuesday October 22nd: Through a graphic organizer, students will develop an organized chart on the vocabulary related to standard 8E1.2, specifically the topic of oceans. Following such, with any remaining time, students will practice such vocabulary words via Quizlet (either "Learn Mode" or "Game Mode.") Wednesday October 23rd - Friday October 25th: |

Week 10: October 28th - November 1st
Monday October 28th: Students will be led through a whole group review on the 8E.1 unit, including a review guide and practice SchoolNet questions.
Tuesday October 29th: Students will complete an 8E.1 Unit Assessment. Students will analyze their assessment for mastery, noting which sub-standards were met vs. not met and how to improve accordingly. |
